Lucie L. Huntsman, LJeffron Designs, Versailles, KY Lucie's jewelry and art has been featured at several galleries around the United States. Galleries such as Gallery 143 in Frankenmuth, MI have selected her jewelry because of it's unique style and quality. Locally her jewelry and art can be seen at Damselfly Gallery in Midway, Truly Bluegrass in Versailles and Pariseane in Lexington. Each piece of jewelry is one-of-a-kind using the beauty of semi-precious stones and metals that enhance the classic beauty of the stones. The striking designs are created with focus on the play of light and color with the relationship to shape. Her designs concentrate on the effects of light and the interplay of metals and metallic shapes. “I utilize my natural capacity to “see” a design in the combination of stones and metals as well as colors and geometric shapes.” She has been designing and marketing her jewelry for the past five years through galleries and limited participation in Art Fairs. Lucie enjoys helping local charitable organizations and participates in the Lexington Woman’s Club “Bids for Kids” program each year. "I always look for new design ideas in the shapes and colors that I encounter every day in my surroundings. My interest is to incorporate the beauty around me into the art that I create.” In 2008 Lucie began to create sand cast birdbaths. These birdbaths are created molded from real leaves found in the gardens and homes around the state. Each piece is hand cast. Some are created in the natural color of the concrete others have dyes added to the concrete during the casting process and yet others are hand painted. Many enjoy a dual life, acting as a birdbath in the summer and an art piece inside the home during the winter months. |
