Jim Staley is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and has lived in Lexington since 1992. After a career in banking, finance and real estate, Jim discovered a love and gift for painting in 2005, following heart surgery. Since that time, he has been painting full time and exploring oil painting by utilizing both traditional and often overlooked techniques and methodologies. Jim is married to Sallye Staley, who teaches art at The Lexington School and is an accomplished artist in her own right. Jim also fosters a lifelong interest in gardening, as well as his art. He considers the pursuit of these, or any such interest, as arising from an abiding love for the creative principle within one's life.
